I am done with the trial drug/placebo part of the trial but I was told that I could take my riba at the same time that I take the telaprevir/placebo...6:am and 2:pm...I would eat yogurt with granola or toast with butter or peanut butter or grapes and string cheese..

..My favorite thing to eat was the grapes and cheese...cheese for the fat grapes because they are cold and refreshing.

I was on a similar schedule. 6AM, 2PM and 10PM for the Telaprevir, 6AM and 6PM for the Riba and my shot on Friday nights.  Trail mix is perfect!!  I ate a lot of raw almonds.  On treatment I found fatty foods hard to eat on so I often tried to eat fruit or other non-fatty foods but I quickly learned that I had to add the fat...the raw almonds were a great solution for me but I wish I had thought of trail mix!!!!

In the Prove 3 trial I was instructed to take the Telaprevir with 500 calories, 30% being from fat.  We dosed the Telaprevir 3 times a day and the Riba twice so I found it almost impossible to do.  I do have to say though that you really need to make an effort.  If you don't you will pay with some pretty awful GI sides.......
I took my AM dose of Telaprevir and Riba at the same time.
Congratulations on getting in the trial!!

I don't take my Vertex/placebo/realthing with the riba simply  because the timing of the trial drug is strict at every 8 hours and the riba isn't.  I take the riba with whatever the biggest meals of the day are.  Usually breakfast and dinner, regardless of what time.  I usually take the Vertex drug with yogurt, grapes or cheese.

How many times a day do you have to take the trial drug/placebo??

Glad you finally got the ball rolling.....can't wait till the start date, bro!!!

Fret--good luck Friday...hope to hear of your start date soon, too :-)

Hey I got my first screening date on Friday the 10th.  Since you went before me, how long after your initial blood tests did you get the protocol paperwork.  You are talking about all the papers to read and sign, right?  thx
