Does Procrit cause bone pain

The last 2-3 days I have had severe pain in the bones of my left hip and thigh.  Not from weight bearing, it doesn't hurt to walk but when I lie down the bones ache and no position gives me any relief.  Its only on the left side, the right is ok thus far.

Before beginning this tx both my hips were stiff in the mornings, due to scar tissue in the joints from radiation burns (high doses of radiation in the pelvic reigon.)  But since I started tx I have not had any of that stiffness.  In fact, after about 3-4 weeks on tx I noticed that I could walk downstairs in the morning without clinging to the railing.

I've been on Procrit twice, 5 weeks last fall and again since February (and for the duration, hgb just won't stablize!)  I know Neupogen can cause bone pain but never heard that Procrit will do so.  But it also works in the bone marrow, so I'm wondering if this new sx is from the Procrit.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Is it the Procrit?  Any input would be helpful.  FYI I'm type 1a, UND since  week 4 and about to take shot 38 of 48 (tonight).

Thanks.

I got my hip and down to the leg pain after 4 month post HepC treatment. It would be very helpful from people if they got better after a while. It still hurts all the time already almost one year.

my bone pain did't start right away but seams to have gotten worse over time in my spine and scull. It only lasts about a week. I take Hydromorphone for the pain as prescribed by my doctor with minimal side effects.  But it is important to slowly decrease the dose and not go cold turkey or you will be very depressed and iratable for a few days, and can be addictive.

Calcium and bananas may help. Apparently the condition is rare.  My kydny doctor never a patient with this problem prior to me.

Yes, Procrit can and will cause bone pain.
The first shot is the worst but it gets a little better after that.

(My first Procrit shot caused severe bone pain and unbelievable headache as well)
It's just one of sides of the med since it stimulates bone marrow to make more red blood cells.

Just watch for any leg swelling, if there is swelling call your doc right away.
The pain will get better over time while using the Procrit...

I take both Procrit and Nuepogen.

Procrit doesn't give me any bone pain.

Nuepogen gives me a bunch of bone pain for the whole day following the shot. It causes my my legs, arms and back to hurt pretty bad at times.

Maybe you should call your Doctor and mention it to them. You never know whats going on.
