I dont think you can feel pain in your spleen or your liver honestly and bruising can be something as simple as not having enough vitamin C, I can tell I need to take some whenever I start to bruise a bit.

do you have your blood work results if so post them here and we can tell you what they mean.

I dont think you are dying though end stage liver disease does not present like anything you are mentioning. I wont say what the symptoms are for fear you will all of a sudden think you have them too.

Others here may have some better answers for you but I will attempt to add what I am thinking.

First, your reaction to the Hepatitis C diagnosis is common. Many of us thought the diagnosis was a death sentence. I know I did. I was giving things away, called up and got information on grave stones, began finalizing my will, was arranging for care for my cats, etc. After I finaly got in to see the case manager at the specialist's office, she reassured me I was not going to die, at least not soon, and that the Hep C was treatable and I had a good chance of clearing the virus. She said even if I did not clear the virus this time, I still was not going to die any time soon.

I don't know what tests you have already had done. You should have had liver function tests  (liver enzymes), a full metabolic panel, a full hematology panel, a chemistry panel, an AFP test (a tumor marker done to help screen for liver cancer), a thyroid panel, a protime, INR and PTT, and, of course, a Hepatitis panel, viral load and genotype.

If you had all of those tests done, they should help to indicate if you have any abnormalities in kidney function, liver function, thyroid function, blood disorders, clotting disorders. They may not always diagnose every disease and they may not always be able to tell you if you have cancer or severe liver damage, but they are strong indicators and there would most likely be some abnormalities in some of the lab work if your organs were not functioning well.

That said, you need further testing. I know you are getting your fibroscan next week. That should help tell you more. You  probably also need a biopsy. You may need further testing to determine the causes of the bruising and the pain in various areas of your body. (Some people just bruise more easily than others.) You may need to see more specialists.

When is your next appointment and are you seeing a specialist? If you don't have an appointment soon, I would recommend making one so you can discuss all of these issues with the specialist.

Perhps your Hep C specialist also needs to refer you to have a psychiatric evaluation. You may need to be on some antidepressants. My specialist normally wants a person to see a psychiatrist for an evaluation before starting treatment. That is because interferon can cause psychiatric problems.

Also, someone needs to address your questions and anxiety over the Hep C diagnosis. The psychiatrist needs to address your mental and emotional issues and your Hep C specialist needs to address your physical issues.

I would advise you not to just sit and worry and get more and more upset and afraid. I feel you need to call and make an appointment to see someone soon and when you call to make the appointment, let them know how worried you are. maybe they will get you in to them sooner.

Don't give up. You may be worrying about problems you may not have. You need answers. Call and make an appointment.

I wish you the very best for the future.

Why does the top of your thread say Luekhimia (sp)?

IS think you are getting pretty stressed/obsessed without information.  Like ny said, you are not going to get that kind of informaiton from an ultrasound..  Your CBC should give you some helpful information.

What is your platelet count?  AST?  ALT?

Others here know which other blood tests could indicate damage.

Still , don't get yourself all worked up yet.

I guess what I am trying to establish is the pains, and the bruising , I have read about cryglolobins that others have had this with hep c . Undertstand I hav eno tstarted any treatment yet, I will do fibroscan next week , what if it is bad , what can I expect. Right now I am ready to throw in the towel thinking I do not have much time left. This is what  I am feeling .

The ultrasound would show if you had liver cancer or tumors but not the level of liver damage you have, for that you need the biopsy.

Seems to me if you are doing treatment for leukemia that your blood work problems could be from that chemotherapy and have nothing to do with your liver at all.

what does your oncologist say?

This is gertting worse by the day, Would any of the blood panel tests show liver damage or ultrasond. or the blood works done by my doctor when hep c was first diagnosed not show anything ? Should i be concerned, or is this just part of hep c ?

You realize, of course that we are all patients, not health care professionals, right?  Given that, if you have leukemia as well as hepatitis C, your problems my go beyond the expertise here.

I understand fibroscans can tell you a lot and so perhaps you will know more after you have had that test.  The gold standard is the liver biopsy.  Bruising could indicate low platelets and that with pain around the spleen could indicate severe liver damage.  However, let's wait to see what your testing shows.

good luck
frijole

You could definitely benefit from the treatment for Hep C, but you will have to have an oncologist and hemotoligist involved to monitor your blood since the medicines play havoc with both red and white blood cells.
