Hmmm, Friday the 13th and it's my last shot of interferon

Can't decide if having my last shot of interferon on Friday the 13th is a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, I am PSYCHED! Goodbye interferon! Thanks for these past 6 months, they've been a real hoot, and I really do appreciate all you've done for me, but I hope to never cross your path again. Ribavirin, be warned.....you're next!!

Thanks everyone! This forum has been an awesome support :)

Thanks James! Thursday was my last Riba. :)
Just got results of my blood work. Reds on the way down again actually, but I'm sure that will turn around. I should have planned ahead and made sure I had one last Procrit vial for this phase. Hoping my hgb starts to turn the other way. Starting to feel like I did when it got low before. Ugh. But hey, at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel now. Waiting for the PCR results.

Yeah, pretty exciting times.

@ uncledudeness, as tempting as it is to get my hands on some free Riba, oh, and Procrit (will miss the burn!), you can keep 'em. It's nice to know that I have until midnight to reconsider though.

@ Susan, wow, congrats to you as well! You doing anything special for you "end night?" Yes, 6 months of waiting, but I'm feeling confident SVR will be in our futures.

Thanks Pam and Will for the good wishes.

@Fretboard, I like that idea. Friday the 13th will be forever ingrained in my memory.

Congratulations on reaching your last shot.  Today is my last shot as well and it did occur to me that it was on a Friday the 13th.  However, I was also born on the 13th and have always said that the 13th was good luck for me...  I guess in 6 months we'll both know how lucky we are - and I am believing that we'll be very lucky (spelled SVR.)

I hope that you are feeling great in no time at all and you never have to deal w/ this stuff again.  Have a fun celebration next Thurs.  All the best,
Susan

It feels surreal and I'm sure will feel even moreso tonight. I'll be giving myself the shot at about 8:00 tonight. I hope interferon doesn't go out with a bang, but rather a wimper. A couple of weeks ago it knocked me back and I was in bed most of the weekend.

I'm going to save the last vial and work it into a mosaic I'm going to make to commemorate this time. I think I'll entitle the mosaic, "A Time to Heal." or something of that ilk.

And yes, it's tempting to bag it but I'll behave and finish the very last Riba. Next Thursday night will be a time to celebrate as well. It's been quite the little road dealing with this stuff, but I was UND at my last blood draw so I'm assuming that will still be the case. Egads. Can't wait to have my life back!

Thanks for the support Anne and I look forward to the day when I can congratulate you for completing tx.

June - OMG  - it must hardly seem real.  I am in tears just thinking about how it must feel to be giving your final shot - just like being in tears doing the first one.  What time?  So, now you have another week of Riba?  It must be tempting to "bag" it eh?

Well, my dog and I are grinning ear to ear and hopefully it's a final goodbye to injections.

Best,  Anne
