This is what was in the back of my mind as always you are so great if we have a question God Bless you all
hi my understanding is that it,s up to doc, Here in Britain it was only approved late last year and our Primary care trust where hubby was treated decided to fund the incivek so we didnt have a choice Good luck with your treatment Jules
Hi, from what I understand it is up to the doctor. You can always ask the doctor why he picked the Incivek. I used Incivek, Pegintron and Riba
Good luck to you
I'm wondering if there IS a reason why some treat with Incivek and others Victrelis. My understanding is that I was put on Incivek because I was Geno Type 1b, and TT.
Where I live, more people are being treated with Victrelis than Incivek. (30 to 5).
Incivek and Victrelis are Protease Inhibitors and they are used in people with Genotype 1. The Standard of Care for Genotype 1 is currently Interferon, Ribavirin, and a Protease Inhibitor (either Incivek or Victrelis). That is the Standard of Care for people with Genotype 1 regardless of previous treatment or viral load or fibrosis stage (including compensated cirrhotics) (even Crossroads treated and she had decompensated cirrhosis).
