The 24 weeks only apply to tx with the new drug added. and of course being clear by week #4.
Although I think there was studies done that showed even without the new drug added if someone was clear at week 4 and stopped at 24 weeks there wasn't much difference with people that did 48 weeks. I think it was only a 2% difference.
That 4 week test is the key to successful tx with making decisions, i.e. how long to treat, add more riba, etc
Either blood sample or buccal swab (like rubbing a Q-tip on the inside of your cheek). Aprox.$300 if you don't have insurance.
thanks..i just looked that up....looks like they started doing it july 2010....is it just a blood test?? i guess i have to wonder why they didn't do this yet
Have you done the IL28B test yet? That has a lot more signifacance than your viral load in determining your length of tx and your chances of clearing.
