I am so very happy for you! I just had to come back and say it again,
Congratulations!!! WOO HOO!!! You did it!
The second pill was GS9451 a NS3/4 Polymerase Inhibitor. A protease inhibitor that attacks the virus at different sites to prevent resistance.
The one fixed dose Sofosbuvir/Ledipasvir pill I took had not been fda approved yet, as I was in the study in June/July 2014. It was the same pill as the new Harvoni though.
This was an experimental study. They are working on different combinations to shorten duration of tx.
Side effects were not too bad. My gall bladder has been giving me trouble for the last 10 yrs and taking a 3 powerful drug cocktail caused severe constipation and some gb pain & inflammation. My food appetite increased X10 and had to eat smaller meals during the 6 wks. Some back and neck pain. Felt a little dizziness but not too bad. There were a lot of GOOD sides on these drugs e.g. increase appetite, itching & leg cramps all vanished during tx, normal labs during tx, My gall bladder survived and gb currently better than ever. Cheers!
Thank you all so very much!! I pray you too will feel this joy too!
Congratulations! And now you have a whole brand new life in front of you. Right on!
Do you know what the second pill was? I just wonder since they say you can take Sovaldi/Ledipasvir as just the one pill. Six weeks is pretty nice.
BART was a mess this morning but the rain, the rain was joyful.
The thousands of people who went to the parade, when it started Pouring rain just around noon, they all looked up and cheered!
California is in a major drought, for those who didn't know
Then there was Halloween, Critical Mass, Castro antics, it was a wild day!

You are all so very kind and amazing people. Thank you for your cheerful good wishes! It reminds me that we are all in this together and supporting each other while we deal with these familiar emotions and physical suffering in one form or another. We are all treading new frontiers in a big way these days. I had to take a long break from posting on this forum. I was really stressed out being in a trial during tx and felt a need to just focus and get through it. Take care everyone! I'm going to do my dragon slayer happy dance!!!
Thats right! The games were so much fun to watch, timing to get the svr with the world series win was so wonderful. I really enjoyed watching or listening to those games. For a moment this morning I was seriously debating getting on bart Friday to see the parade..decided not.
