Medication cost with insurance for triple therapy?

I have seen several post about this, but I am curious to know what the latest feedback is for the out of pocket cost for the 3 drugs. Just the drugs..not the other medical cost. I have Cigna...so if anyone has experience with them PLEASE SHARE:-)

I hope some of you guys are willing to share!! Thanks

Vann

Hi, I have CIGNA and I use their speciality pharmacy and pay $56/month for all three meds. for my copay.  They pay the remaining balance and I didn't have any problems with them picking up the cost.  They call each month and deliver on Sat. since I have to sign off on meds.  CIGNA is cheap on some things but they have not been cheap on this, thankfully!

Mary - I clicked on your grants link - I too have terrible insurance (they deny everything) - and all I came up with is TransAmerica Retirement info.  Are these the same people who help with grants?  I would also like to correspond with you if poss.  Let me know.  Thank you Christina G.

There are grants available for the drugs especially if you have insurance. I have lousy insurance, but I have not paid a thing for the meds. The incivek was paid for in full, peginterferon was donated through grants and ribaviron is covered by insurance. If you have trouble with copays let me know and I will dig up the information I used. My brother has great insurance and he still got assistance with copays. My bro and I have been on meds at the same time. good luck!

well i heard of 100% success from a friend of mine whose aunt got treated by herbal medicine for both HEP C and Liver cirrhosis in her 50's.. it seems the virus count came down from 5500000 to 13000 within 3 weeks after she started treatment without any side effects and down to 0 now with the lft showing some pretty good figures.. I dont know if the western world believes it or not.. but i do..

I have BCBS my Vertex meds are $24,000.00 for 30 days, the Peg and Copeg are $4000.00 for 30 days - My insurance pays all but $300.00 for copay and Vertex is picking up the copay on their drug I am waiting to hear if I qualify for the Roche drugs to pick up the copay's.

I too have Cigna and after the obligatory denials, they approved full cost of triple therapy which I think will exceed $100k.

I don't have any personal expirience with this but from what I read on here it seems to be all over the map. I've seen as little as 30 to 40$ a month in copays up to 50% of the cost of the drug. I think your best bet would be to contact cigna and see what they have to say about it.

Good luck I hope it's low.
