HCV genotypes

Is it possible for one person to have more than one HCV genotype?

i had 5 genotype tests and not one of them was able to determine mine... they all said that it was 'atypical and undetermined' and recommended to test again..

Mixed genotypes is known-usually 1a and 1b.This often resoves down to only the dominant one (1a) presenting on subsequent genotyping-as in my case.

NyGirl was the one that responded to me, telling me that she had 2 viruses...made me feel whiny for complaining about 1 virus...

I'm also geno 1a and 1b, another combo kid.  However, you CAN have dual genos such as geno 1 and geno 2 if you've been infected multiple times.  Very rare and not sure I have encountered this with anyone I've communicated with, it's just possible.

Yes, NYGirl, was 1a and 1b, i think Susan400 is also, Ny is svr! Susan cleared one, I THINK!
