Dr. Palmer

Does anyone know of Dr. Melissa Palmer?  She's here on Long Island, and I have started to see her, but I don't know  much about her besides the books shes written.  I have gone through treatment for Hep C twice already and I'm hoping she might have some other insight.

Thanks for your answers.  I am going to her as another opinion since I have been treated twice already with no luck. I also have my oncologist checking into her for me.  I've only seen her once and she did seem to be very thorough and know what she's talking about so we will see.  Thanks again.

all I know is that I have her book, which seems to be a very thorough analysis of what this disease is about and it's treatments, but it's a few years old now, she might have an newer, updated book by now...she sure sounds better then a few of the winners I've had...lol....

You have many good choices in your area. If it were me, and I had already treated twice, I would get more than one opinion in terms of moving forward. Here are two other hepatologists in the NYC area you might contact either regarding SOC, possible trials, or simply to run by any recommendations by the doctor you're seeing.

She treated me w/ monotherapy and during clinical trial 3 x wk interferon/riba. She is very thorough and was very ambitious. I liked her. If i were on the Island, that's who I would see.
