Hi, Sandi.
Thanks for the good wishes. It's getting harder and harder to get any timely info on where the trials are being done, but if I stick at it maybe I'll get lucky.
I think that as more and more people with hep c get turned down by their insurance companies for the new drugs, more and more are looking for trials. The competition is getting cut-throat, and New York probably isn't a good place to be. Too many sick people, not enough medical facilities or good hep MDs.
When I'm back in May I'll call the places I know and try to get the lay of the land. If I can't get into a trial this time around, at least I'll have more information for next time. Trouble is, I'm borderline cirrhosis and soon a lot of trials won't be considering me. But this is my year to do it. It's just gotta happen.
Hope your Tx is going well. Message me whenever you want to.
Cheers.
Mike
Hiya, Dee. How've you been?
Thanks for the greeting. I keep reading about all these new trials that are supposed to be starting up, but there's no study center info on the gov website. The last few trials, by the time I found the study centers and contacted them, all the spots were filled.
I'm not giving up, but it sure is frustrating. The worst part is not being in the States now, not having a hep MD there, or any insurance. Flying blind, so to speak.
But I'm going back in May and will call around to the hospitals. There've gotta be some New York hospitals doing trials of DAAs. Heck, there are around six different pharmas developing them. Must be some way to get in.
Anyway, hope you are enjoying the spring weather.
Cheers!
Mike
Happy Easter Mike. Glad to hear there are new trials coming up, hope you will able to get into one. Sandi
Hi Mike, nice to see you here.
Happy Easter to you as well. I just wanted to say hello.
I hope someone else will be along soon with information. I thought there were some really good tx's out now that could help you.
Take care
Dee
