Now clean &sober 11 mos.

The doc said I need to be clean for at least 6 mos. I want to get on one of those study's ofcourse . I have now moved to another part of FL. and want to find out more about a free study here. How do I get in touch with somrone , what do I Google?  I have been rear ended in a car accident recently and refuse to take any drugs , they are wanting me to take steroids and flexeril , not sure I want to take these. Is there an alternative for pain?
Thank you

I somewhat agree with the steroids except that they are just fine in small doses. Generally the Doctor will give you a taper of steroids which is just fine for you to take.
Flexeril is a muscle relaxer and is also ok to take. They will not show up as narcotics and the Doctor that suggest that you get clean will understand.

If you have pain and are recommended too take these for your comfort then you should do so.

Be well,
Molly

congrats on the sober part, that's great news, Try to stay off of steroids completely..they are murder on the liver. Pain meds in general aren't good for the liver. Depends on your stage/grade and other health issues. They won't preclude you from trials, but many could bump up your enzymes and cause dependence issues. Avoid if possible, get some physical therapy instead...use heat/cold compresses, rest, etc.

go to www.clinicaltrials.gov here you can do a search for hepatitis C and put your city and state, they should be trials that pop up and you can call to see if available and if you qualify.
