One person's opinion on release of Telaprevir and boc

Ben Weintraub, director of research, Wolters Kluwer inThought

We expect that 2011 will be the year for novel oral anticoagulants, as the FDA gets over its hesitation in approving Xarelto (rivaroxaban) and we begin to get mature data for apixaban, edoxaban, and others. Physicians in Europe and the U.S. will begin to replace heparin with Xarelto and Pradaxa (dabigatran).

Other big drugs up for approval in 2011 are Benlysta (belimumab) for lupus and the two hepatitis C drugs telaprevir and boceprevir. While we expect Benlysta to be approved, it's likely that the FDA and EMEA will delay telaprevir and boceprevir market entry until 2012.

Here's the link. I don't see any supporting evidence, just a guess and a comment suggesting a 2012 release. It seems that much more evidence points to 2011. I guess we'll see.

I would like the link also. I have been really hoping for the telepravir to be available if my husband can't get into a trial. :(

One man's opinion.  I'm on a google alert for any news on Telaprevir or Vertex.

Now I can't seem to find the link.  Just goes to show, it's not a done deal till it's done.  But odds should be good for approval.

Thanks, Judy. Can you paste a link to that article, while it’s still fresh in your computer? Someone’s bound to ask for it. Hmm… I guess I just did, huh :)?
