Severe wet excema behind ears-anyone else-& suggestions?

Hi Everyone,
One of my peculiar "little" side effects that started with the incivek rash is what I think is a very wet form of excema where my ears connect to my head and the backs of my ears and ear lobes. It sounds really trivial but it is so wet from seeping fluid that it soaks my hair and I have to get up to tuck kleenex behind my ears during the night because the seeping fluid forms a sticky crust and it is a mess. This skins seeps fluid and bleeds all the time. I had the incivek rash really bad when I had it especially on my scalp which is almost completely better now (7-8 wks later) but the ears continue. The backs of my ears, my ear lobes and the skin on my head is getting really messed up- almost like a burn with the skin puckering and scabbing up some. I am sorry for the graphic description. Has anyone else heard of this and if so do you know if anything helped? Thanks!

Ohhhh I am so sorry, that sounds like it might be painful :(    I havent had that sx, but I am getting crusty in my ears.   Seems like it might be getting a little worse over the last few days too.   I started putting a little lotion and diaper rash cream on it.   Just lightly dabbed.    And seemed to help today.    I do have other places on my body that is peeling, and Desitin with 40% Zinc has helped.
Good luck with this.    Carrie

Thanks for the response. I have been using triple antibiotic ointments and cortisone cream but it just gets worse. The skin has peeled so much. I kept using ointments because it peels, seeps, crusts, bleeds and when it dries out it puckers and scabs and hurts. I think the puckered skins weeps and dries out and breaks and it  is like a viscious cycle. I will talk to my doc tomorrow. I will try some corn starch tonight instead of kleenex. Thnaks again,

Talk to dr. I had the same thing prior to tx n after. Steroid cream helped. Cornstarch is a great old school cure, but dr will be able to see if there is infection.
My dr was adamant about reporting rash w Incivik. Good luck. Karen :)

I've had that in the past and used powder to take care of it. Corn starch would help too. It dries it up and allows it to heal.

Go to a dermatologist.  When I deveoped and autoimmune rash (not the regular rash) I tried to fix it myself and it ended up BAD by the time I got to my hep doc he yelled "holy crap what happened to you" and sent me right over to the derm that minute. He looked at me, knew what it was and gave me ointment that took away the problem almost immediately.

I wish I had gone right away.
