Silly question regarding Hair Regrowth

Dear All

I know its seems a bit stupid to ask this question but i am really worried about my hair. since week 19 to week 31 of my tx , i have lost about 40% of my hair. The remaining hair are also of very rough quality, body less and become very straight pointing towards my forehead. I cant make any hair style and still they are falling with great speed. I have cut them very short but nothing changed. Moreover the color of my hair also changing, previously it were black and now turning to somewhat brownish.

I want to ask whats the average that people loose hair during tx , get them back ( just give an estimate as i want to assure myself) and how long it take to get them back.

I am almost a year post tx.  I lost a ood bit of hair mostly in the front bang area.  It is still growing back.

My problem seems to be my fingernails.  Not at all a vanity issue as I could care less about the length.  All my life my nails were hard as nails (LOL) and now they are so brittle they snap and wear so unevenly it drives me nuts.

I did cut my hair shorter, inverted bob cut.  My hair is thin and darker than it ever was.  I guess it is my natural color, no highlights or bleach.  I wanted to wait till it was heathier, maybe this summer I will lighten it again.  Good Luck and from all I have read here it does seem to grow back.

Thanks for sharing info. I'll definitely use some good conditioner and will try to shampoo on scalp rather than hair BT its quite in practice now as LESS HAIR ARE LEFT AND SCALP CAN BE SEEN EASILY :)

Can anyone tell, are all persons who lose hair during tx get them back or there are some exceptions as i dont have very thick hair before starting tx and now the situation is even worst.

I also lost about 40% during tx.  I did not cut my hair short, I just trimmed it to mid back
so I could cover any area's that were thinning fast.  My hair is coming back in now at a good rate and the dryness is much better.  (I'm 6 months post tx)  New hair is about 4 inches long now.

Just try and wash your scalp, not your hair when you shampoo.  As you rinse it will go through your hair and cleanse it.  (Yes, this is possible)
Use a  conditioner that is not heavy and try a leave in shine product or leave in conditioner.

Your hair will also make a comeback after tx.

Hi ... I am fine and tx is also going one. I have decided to continue tx till week 36 ( normal 6 months for Geno 3 and an extension of further 3 months to lower down the chance of relapse) you know , when i was deciding whether to continue the tx for further 3 months or not then tx and sx seemed harsh but Once the decision is made every thing is ok
Thanks for answering the question

hi, how are you doing with your tx??

all I've read says it all grows back, sometimes stronger than before, so don't worry, you should see little new bloomers soon after tx is finished.
