I've noted it at $32,000....don't hold your breath on it going down for quite a while.
Have you asked why? How many pills are listed for each one. Maybe monthly billed for first 28 and then next more or some other charge is included?
No did not ask why. When I attemped to refill today I was told my Foundation money had run out and the cost was about a grand. I said now wait a minute I am in catastrophic coverage and it should be covered. That is when I learned that when you get out of the Donut hole and into catastrophic it really isn't all covered at that point. It looks like you become responsible for 5% of drug costs. I was shocked I always assumed you didn't pay anything after you hit catastrophic. I was able to get an additional grant of 7 grand. I hope this 7 grand goes farther than the 3 months the first one did.
On my Vons Pharmacy receipt, the cash price (which I didn't pay) was $36,540.00 per month (28 pills). The submitted amount to my insurance was $33,614.99, and what the Tricare amount allowed was $28,341.85. My co-pay was $17. So go figure, the amounts are so all over the place it is crazy, like Monopoly money. They billed per month.
If it's $28,000 for 28 Well if my calculation is correct 5% of $1000 is $50
7000/50 means you have about a 140 days
If it's $36,540 for 28 then 5% is about $65 and roughly 107 days or some where between that and 140.
Guess the best hope would be to stay undetected and receive a successful transplant by then or shortly after. If your financial situation becomes more difficult, hopefully some other assistance program can help or a friend who would surprise you by hosting a benefit event..
I wish and pray for the best.
