Taking antibiotic while on ta

I have come down with a miserable sinus infection......gee could it be my low rbc & wbc....what ever the reason
My primary care giver has given me antibiotics.
He and my hep doc are at same clinic so he is aware of all my meds...and still I have concerns about taking them.
Has any one else had to take antibotics while on tx...
Any info that would set my mind at ease would be helpful.

I was on several different types of antibiotics at various points during treatment. As long as your treatment doctor is aware I would take what is prescribed.

I took Cipro for 12 weeks of treatment. No problem.

But afterward had to take some meds to bring back the good bugs in my digestive system as the antibiotic killed off even the good bacteria.

I had the same question 10 days ago as I got infection too.
Now I am on my last day of amoxicillin. Don't have any sx of the antibiotic, but many other people on tx do get them (BTW I don't have any sx of my tx either, only the extreme fatigue).
Everybody reacts different, but I would try in your case what merryBe suggests and if it doesn't work, then I would go to antibiotics, which won't impact negatively your hepC tx outcome.

I've had 10 infections during tx...took amoxicillin, and cipro once.

for sinus infection I used a squeeze bottle with salt water in it.....you can buy them in the phamacy now..the bottle with the right amount of salt in the package....or make your own..  you have to snort a fair of this liquid amount to wash out your sinuses each day...not very pleasant but it will clear out most sinus infections without the use of anti-B's so you may want to try it first....get at least a tablespoon to go up each nostril teice a day to be effective.  Then let it drain out your nose or mouth, try not to swallow as it's too much salt to do that.

I had to take antibotics twice also.  Very bad upper respiratiory infections.  Levaquin and Avelox.  It will not effect your chances at SVR and there are always all kinds of warnings about liver precautions on the medication guides but my hep doc said they were fine.
