Notice: The only cure for Uveitis is cortisone which is immunity-suppressor. Not even cortisone is able to extinct Uveitis (I have been suffering for 30 years ). Possible blindness. For this reason I am additionally afraid of Pegasus which may cause different autoimmune disorders by itself or make worse already existing ones.
I have always seen it associated with treatment itself and not the disease. I had this disease for about 25 years but did not develop the thyroid disorder until about week 24 of treatment and never had any problem with it before. Either way I am stuck with it now.
No I am very certain because researches shows connection between many autoimmune disorders and thyroid disorder is among them. The only problem is that they are not able to confirm those connections in particular cases. Characteristically hepatologist said for another autoimmune disorder I have (Uveitis) on my eyes that Pegasus may negatively interfere in case that is not contracted with Hep-C. In the oposite case ,that it is contracted with Hep-C, Uveitis may take advantage by interferon too. Only way to know this is just applying the treatment.
I understand you because I am surprised by this facts too. But be sure I understood this very well and I confirmed the facts as well. It was discussion on TV about Hep-C too.
I think it was the treatment that caused the autoimmune problem in my case although I am not positive it is always so. I dont think there is any way you could prove that you contracted hepc from your thyroid levels though. that really doesn't make sense to me.
