As with all sexual relations with partners that you don't know their medical history, it is important to practice safe/safer sex. By doing so you reduce your risk of most viral transmission and STDs. Note: Hepatitis C is not an STD.
Gloves
When putting fingers or hands inside the vagina or anus, you can wear latex, polyurethans or nitrile gloves to reduce the risk of getting STIs though tiny cuts on your hands.

will an acohol based sanitizer kill it , I am not sure if the person has the virus , this is educational for me to know the facts
How long does the Hepatitis C virus survive outside the body?
The Hepatitis C virus can survive outside the body at room temperature, on environmental surfaces, for at least 16 hours but no longer than 4 days.
Does this person even HAVE hepc? That might be the place to start.
how long will the virus last on ones hand if at all it was there? what can I do to remove ?alcohol based hand sanitizer?thanks
Again soap and water doesn't kill the virus but you can't EAT the virus you have to have blood to blood contact. But unfortunately you could perhaps get HepA this would be how it would be transmitted.
If you have more concerns perhaps seeing a doctor and getting a complete blood work up would be a good idea. I am not sure what other diseases you might have put yourself at risk for but I'm sure there might be several.
can you please answer my concerns?
Thx. Em . Just that it was so nicely compiled by Mike :)

Hi everyone -
Let's stick to the topic here. This member hasn't posted in Hep C before, and it's a simple transmission question.
Emily
I hope that you didn't use your hands to eat or lick your fingers I'd assume you could get hepA or B this way since water and soap dont kill virus.
Im pretty sure that you have zero risk here.
It's blood to blood contact.
"I washed my hands and then went to lunch" very casual about it... lol.
If you choose laytex gloves be careful about allergies.
I washed my hands immediately after with soap and water, then went to lunch

I find this part of the thread interesting.......
Risk?? Ah...not sure ..hopfully someone with more experience in this activity will chime in.......
Well I'm going to take a stab at this one. Your finger nails can be sharp.
I'm not saying you can or you can't get hep c this way. I think maybe you
should invest in some finger rubbers. Better safe than sorry : )
Hep C is spread via blood to blood transmission.
Your question is answered.
Good day.
