I am Geno 1a stage 2 level 1 fibrosis, not overweight, good physical shape, and want to try this new drug if possible. I was introduced to the person in charge of all drug trials at the hospital were I am being treated, she told me that Vertex contacted her and wants to do a trial there. Sounds to me like a 2 month time before it gets going, a doctor that worked at the hospital now works for Vertex and contacted her about the trial and she was told it is a go. If that falls through I will do the standard treatment. Also she thinks the first half will be with Telaprevir, and the rest with standard treatment, I imagine to do a comparison.

Don't know your stats to comment fully, but the new phase of Vertex trials are an excellent opportunity for those who want to avoid SOC, but not wait the 2-4 years until Telaprevir gets FDA approval. Good luck!

Is that good?  Is that what you were hoping or did this come as a surprise?  From how I'm understanding, and I'm sure you will correct me, this was a surprise? How do you feel about it?
