I still have a sip of champagne for a celebratory toast, but I don't drink much alcohol.  But then again, I never was a big drinker.

Congrats on your SVR, and best of health to you.

I don't know what it is, maybe having gone through all of that to save my liver, but now that I'm done treatment and SVR and given the fact that my liver is not in bad shape and also given the fact that I used to enjoy my beer more than most, you would think that I'd be hammering them back at least occasionally. This just is not the case at all. I suddenly and inexplicably have no taste left for alcohol. Strange.

As a former alcoholic, and a lucky one who managed to beat it, I can honestly say that after 10 years, I have no desire whatsoever to drink anymore. I'm very thankful for this. Now that I know how it feels to finally "feel", I would never cloud my mind again with drugs or alcohol. I'm very much happier without it!

Glad to see many are making positive choices.

P.S. I'm not slamming drinking in any way. I have plenty of friends who drink on a regular basis. Like all things, balance and moderation.

Way to go guys!

Robert

First congrats on your SVR.

As for the drinks you had, no big deal. No harm was done with a few drinks. As a matter of fact once SVR there is no reason why someone can't have a drink once in awhile or even a glass of wine with dinner everynight. Like anything else if you over due it, it will harm you sooner or later.

Congratulations on the SVR!!! That's an accomplishment in itself. And congrats on the great decision too.

It's pretty easy then just don't do it anymore :)
Lots of folks around here have done the same thing and then said wow that was so not worth it!  Good life lesson - have a root beer float instead ;)
