Has anyone done acupuncture while on treatment? I will ask my Dr about it. But wanted to hear if anyone here has done it.

Yes.  Acupuncture on tx, every one or two weeks when I could get there (it was a 45 minute drive, not quite as far as my treating hospital, so I often followed office visits with an acupuncture tx).  It really helped me with the nausea, headache, and muscle and joint pains.

If you google 'community acupuncture' and put in your city, you should find a low cost acupuncture treatment center.
I went to a practitioner a few years ago on a weekly basis (1x wk) and it was okay, but then I found (at her recommendation) Berkeley acupuncture project in my city and go 3x wk (15.00 per session) The frequency of the Tx helped a lot and I find that it has helped me with the symptoms of cirrhosis as well as the drug TX symptoms that I experienced.

Summer, there are acupuncture schools and clinics that provide low-cost acupuncture.  This site has some resources http://www.naturalhealers.com.  Hope you find someone wonderful to help you.  You can buy the book on Amazon  Some people here like her work and others don't.  It seems to help us.

Where can I buy this book? I've never tried acupuncture, but have heard really good things about it. Especially for pain relief. I need to find someone who can work with me during my treatment. Hope they aren't expensive.

I love it.. sorry he had some trouble the last couple of days..  I really enjoy following his progress (he is about a month ahead of me) and it helps me avoid some land mines!

All the best!

Hi Summer - yes, my husband is doing acupuncture 2x/wk.  the day after interferon and 3 days later.  It's absolutely helped him alleviate side effects, certainly not all, but he hasn't had one weekend in bed yet, and we're about to do shot 7 tomorrow night.  Misha Cohen's book, the hep c handbook has the protocol to use while in treatment for acupuncturists.  If you have someone that knows what they're doing, I can' recommend it enough.  Especially helpful with rash sfx.  Our doctor absolutely endorses acupuncture and recommends it to his patients.
