good work guys, brina, you are lucky to hhave found this site
It’s important to ask the doctor how he’s defining ‘last stages of hepatitis c’; if you recently underwent interferon treatment for it, you haven’t reached end stage liver disease yet; be sure to ask him what criteria he’s using for his diagnosis.
When our disease advances, we develop scarring, or fibrosis; the amount of fibrosis often determines the urgency for subsequent treatment.
Good luck, and let us know what the doctor says at the upcoming appointment. Feel free to ask questions in here; there are lots of folks that have had similar experiences as you.

no he hasnt but i go back to see him in two weeks n im going to ask him what are my options now thanks for all the great info
Hello Brina,
Welcome to the forum. I'm assuming you mean last stages of liver disease as in cirrhosis.
I see that you treated and failed. Has your doctor talked to you about liver transplant? If you are in end stage liver disease and treatment is no longer an option perhaps consulting with a hepatologist who specializes in liver transplant will be beneficial and give you other options.
There are medications to help control the fluid and keep the ammonia levels down as well restricting your diet. All these things can be discussed with you doctor.

Hi Sabrina,
Welcome to the discussion group. I was diagnosed with stage F3-4 fibrosis, so far from end stage liver disease. I have since treated successfully with interferon/ribavirin, and do not expect further progression at this time.
How are you? Can you tell us more about your condition? How long do you suspect you’ve had HCV? Have you had a biopsy recently, or do you have a current metabolic panel for review, perhaps? What options has your medical team offered you?
Again, welcome to the forum—
Bill
