Congratulations on UND! That's wonderful news. Sorry you're struggling with nausea. I have read on this forum that some people have been prescribed a patch for nausea when Zofran didn't give enough relief, but take the full dose of Zofran that is prescribed and see if that does the trick. If not, call your doctor's office. Make sure you drink enough fluids so you don't get dehydrated, and rest when you're tired. Dehydration and overexertion can add to the nausea. What I have seen on this forum, the side effects come and go, so hopefully your nausea will pass. Keep your eye on the target: SVR!

Congrats on und. Hang in there! The first 12 weeks is tough. Take it one day at a time. Your good news is that the drug is working! Maybe think of the aide effects as being even more proof that ur on ur way! Karen :)
A big congratulations on your UND status. Sorry about the nausea, I have been very lucky not to experience that symptom. Hopefully pre dosing with the anti- nausea drug will help.
Thanks for the tipps,I will try 3 times 8 mg now.and will take the tabs as you 1 or 2 hours before the inc.
I was typing when you last posted. I see you are on Zofran. I am not sure when you take it, but I take it every 8 hours, about 1-2 hours before I am going to eat and take my meds. I found that if I waited until I got nauseated, it did not always work or it did not work as well.
I never had a problem with waking up to take it every 8 hours because I was always up and awake to unrinate at least every hour. Therefore, at 4 am when I was up I just took the Zofran and it was working well by 6 am when I took my meds and food.
But, it does not work with everyone. Some on the forum took other anti-nausea meds.
Congratualtions on the UND. status!
I was on Incivek too and had nausea and some vomiting. I was eating nothing but Greek yogurt and eggnog and toast or crackers. I got a prescription for Zofran (8 mg. 3 times a day) and that worked well. I was able to eat real food again. Zofran does not work for everyone but it worked for me. If it does not work, the doc could order another anti nausea med.
I hope you get some relief. You have made great progress and are UND. Try to hang in there and get to SVR. I have been off Incivek for a month now and I feel so much better. I bet you will too.
thanks,
yes im taking the riba with food,
my doc gave me zofran wich helped me for 2 weeks but since this week its worse again.
the ginger tea is helping me also but today i stayed at work where i had to vomit and i did not have any nausea meds with me.
Congrats on the und.
Sorry you're suffering.
Are you taking the ribavarin with a meal? This is important or it can cause nausea.
Ginger is good for nausea, any kind, ginger tea, ginger chews.
You need to talk to your doctor to help you with these side effects.
