Correction to above post:

This sentence: "Studies have shown that more severe progression of chronic Hepatitis C is seen in patients showing genotype 1b compared with those with genotype 2. "

should read

"Studies have shown that more severe progression of chronic Hepatitis C is seen in patients showing genotype 1 compared with those with genotype 2."

Hello, Pooh has given you a lot of really good information.  If you read it you will have good information.
All that I can say is that there is no difference in symptoms, they all damage the liver.
I hope you can find some help

The symptoms come from liver damage and/or they come from extrahepatic manifestations. All Genotypes can cause liver damage and all Genotypes can cause extrahepatic manifestations.

Genotype 3 can cause more rapid steatosis (fatty liver) than the other Genotypes.

Studies have shown that more severe progression of chronic Hepatitis C is seen in patients showing genotype 1b compared with those with genotype 2.

Here are some links that may help you to understand more about Hepatitis C and the various Genotypes. Genotype 1 now has a very good response to treatment (triple med treatment) at about 70-75% depending on various factors. I want to mention that because some of the links do not make that clear.
