I used to have to deal with them and they were a huge P.I.T.A., I think you can figure out what that stands for! It totally stressed me out all the time. I was constantly having to get my doctor to write letters, explaining why I needed the meds. They were even worse about it when it came to sleep aids. However, I think that alot of insurance companies raise some flack about paying for the meds because they are so expensive, even though we do need to have them. I don't know that there is an easy answer, sorry! Just know that you're not alone. Susan400
thanks bill the doc had a sample that i just picked up, but this problem with insurance has been going on since august, and i figured i would give them a chance. all day yesterday i waited (they said i would have it by thursday on monday) no meds on thursday, so i figure ok it will definantly be here by today. wrong!!! i ended up calling them and somebody did'nt fax something to somebody blah, blah, blah!!!!!! anyways i have a shot so need to be thankful for that! Bill i don't understand what you are saying about waiting 2 weeks, can i get away without shot for 2 weeks? oh now i get it duh! after 2nd shot call them? lol i am a mess, but thank you alll for helping.
Hi Jonney—
What a drag you’re fighting this so hard; especially when you feel so poorly. I know this probably won’t help you much, but it might help others that read this; seriously consider waiting to start your meds two weeks after receiving them at first. This will provide a cushion so that if something happens like this in the future; you have a fighting chance of keeping a smooth supply going.
Jonnie, have you tried discussing this issue with a department manager at the insurance company? And is the doctor’s office pitching for you as hard as they can?
When is your next injection due? Maybe someone in here can help you out somehow (wink!)? What type of IFN and what dose are you in need of?
Best of luck to you—
Bill
