does pain meds make hep c worse? I got a sudden rash about three weeks ago

I have hep c and got a really bad rash all of a sudden on both of my arms one day....it doesnt itch or bother me except to look at. it just realy red. Ive been having to take alot of oxycodone recently due to back issues, could this be making my liver worse.  ive had hep c for 20+years and have never had any symptoms like this before

What do you mean by "making your liver worse?"  What kind of shape is in your liver in? Have you had a biopsy yet? What is your Genotype and viral load?

Perhaps your doctor means the way your liver is metabolizing the Oxy. Or perhaps the manner the Oxy is interacting with other medications and/or supplements? Someone might be able to give a response with more insight with more knowledge of your  individual situation. ♫

Ya know....the rash I got, from having Hep C, was on my upper arms, but it was under the skin, and could hardly be noticed, but it was itchy, and if I itched it, it got much more itchy: this rash was caused by my bilirubin being elevated.
The best thing to do, is get a biopsy~ I noticed, once my liver was in trouble, any kind of narcotic pain med made my itchy and pukey...and over the counter pain meds gave me muscle cramps

I've needed narcotic pain meds for many years due to spinal cord disease, and I also have hep C (and cirrhosis). I've never gotten a rash from oxycodone, but it certainly is possible that you may have developed an allergy to it. I doubt if it is related to your hep C, but you really should be asking a hepatologist who is familiar with your full medical situation. You should be getting guidance from a good hepatologist anyway, just to make sure that you don't take any meds that might hurt your liver. Other doctors probably won't have all the necessary background info to give you the best advice. If you do start triple treatment with Incivek, please be extraordinarily cautious with narcotic pain meds. I found the Incivek to interact with it and enhance its effects, so I could have overdosed had I not been careful. I had to halve my doses of narcotics while taking Incivek.

Wait a minute if your not on treatment your rash could be related to the pain med but it probably isn't related to your heb c at all. But i may be missing something I am in a pretty deep treatment fog!
