headache

recently broke up with my treatment against HCV (1B) after exactly one year. I used a mix of interferon and Riba...with weely injections. Started with load 4.2 mill  and went down after a year treatment 20.000  but had to stop since I was strongly affected, phi ... [More] sically, mentally and emotionally. I almost lost my job, I am a hotel industry executive, high level with lots of responsabilties. Now after 4 month off the treatment I do feel much better but have constant headache, (any suggestions?).  Is tylanol the right medicine ? My Dr. says yes but I read acetaminophen is damaging your liver
I need to to go back on treatment but do not know when since I might have to give up my career. Have not checked my actual count since August 08 when I stopped the treatment. Might do a biopsy next....

Tylenol is generally accepted as the best OTC pain med for people with liver disease. Other meds like aspirin and ibuprofen can cause problems with coagulation (blood clotting), as well as other issues.

Although Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a known hepatotoxin in large doses, there doesn’t seem to be any evidence that it’s cumulative; if taken in doses consistent with physicians directions, you should be fine. It’s even prescribed to cirrhotics in some cases.

Good luck going forward—

Did your doctor order viral load tests at different intervals throughout treatment? Specifically 12 & 24 weeks. My question is why would you continue to treat if still detectable at 24 weeks? Your doctor should be sued for malpractice if he allowed this !!!
With that being said do a biopsy and if stage 2 or less wait a few years until the new drugs come out. Best of luck
