Herbal D-Tox Cleanse post Pegetron?

Four months ago I completed treatment with Pegetron for Hepatitis C (which thankfully worked!), today I am curious if I can do a Herbal d-tox cleanse for my body after waiting this long or if I should wait longer. During treatment I couldn't do a cleanse as it would affect my medication which is understandable but I don't see a reason why I cannot now but I do need advice from someone more knowledgable. Thanks.

Gee, thanks for sharing.  I guess I can understand why "Ray" and "Ken" are smiling.

Next time give the appropriate mealtime warning, OK?

Is it fair to say that it goes in as Swiss Kriss and comes out like Swiss Miss?

I hesitate to use any products that I find on the internet.  Figure I have been fighting the HCV bug for 38 yrs (the the TX got better)...and did it with Diet.  The only thing I have used throughout, has been Swiss Kriss, as a sort of laxative/cleanser..   Very gentle.  Please please make sure you Always check for Kava and all of the other nasties in those herbals, that are toxic to liver.  God Bless the internet for research. When my treatment is over, I'm going for water, water, and more water and a balanced veggie diet. Nice to hear that everyone is pretty much staying away from the herbals during TX.  Hope I haven't spoken out of turn, being new on the site.  Peace.  Janee

I've been doing detoxes for many years. I stopped when I was diagnosed and waited until after I was declared SVR. I am planning to do a thorough detox over a span of 2 weeks or so next summer.

I would definitely wait with the detox until after the six months post PCR. Wait until you get your big fat SVR and then detox!

The treatment drugs take quite a long time to leave your body and maybe it is essential for the meds to kind of fade out of your body to maintain SVR or in order for your body to get back to normal gradually. Who knows... Like Deb said, you don't want to wonder about it, if something happens.

Agree I would wait until at least after my six month PCR and knowing I was SVR to even try something, especially something that we dont know has any value at all.  Most of those things are complete scams so you don't want to take it and then relapse and wonder if it had to do with it.

Usually the term "treatment worked" is made 6 months after the completion of treatment with a PCR.  You are four months out.  Do you have another PCR scheduled?

i wondered that too if there is something to ridding body of the toxins produced by meds and any residual meds too. it makes sense that it could mitigate some sx but when is the best time to initiate as we may need the remaining meds to stay virus free... just wondering too. id love some supported feedback.

I've never done any of those cleanses, that doesn't mean much tho',   Maybe someone else will come along with some information for you.  I know there's been a resurgence of those detox products I'm just not sure they're needed.  good luck
