Thanks for sharing info Carol.. I have suffered symptoms from the get go. I had a doctor that was wise and warned me of alcohol and Tylenol when I was 21 years old. I obeyed yet have suffered lots of symptoms that sound just like treatment for 39 years. I need to read more about everyone and learn more. I don't like chemicals and have focused on nutrition.

Most of us treating for hep c had no symptoms that we could identify.  Generally one finds out when a blood test comes back with high enzymes and the doctor does further testing.  There are many tests involved.  Genotype, viral load, but the one that sends us into treatment is the liver biopsy that shows how much damage has been done to the liver.  It is possible to have your liver almost destroyed before you even know you are sick.  And it is not an easy decision to treat.  There are side effects to deal with.  We go in feeling fine and know there is a chance we will not feel fine until treatment is over.  But, with a chance to clear and halt, and in some cases reverse, the liver damage most of us think it is worth it.

I can't answer your colon questions, but I'm sure there is a forum where others can weigh in.

I'm not sure. I wonder if hep c patients generally have gall bladder and common bile duct problems as well. Doctors don't have or share these histories of patients. So I thought about hunting elsewhere.I have never tried the forums but it appears there are a lot of patients that do so I am trying to find some correlations. Also it appears most everyone tries treatment. Another question that comes to mind is Do all these hep c patients that go into treatment because the doctors give percentages of success? Or are they actually quite ill prior to treatment, suffering from all sorts of symptoms. Also, did folks ever get sick  throughout life (jaundice, total fatigue etc...)Lastly ,I think I was wondering about colonoscopy and maybe I was in the wrong forum but I am curious about after removal of lots of polyps, has anyone had a sore stomach ever since??? I am sorry about all the words and multiple subjects. Do I need to post colon questions in another forum?
