Concerned with post Tx side affects

For anyone concerned with early post treatment side effects:  I was growing concerns when I was 1-3 months post treatment still experiencing side effects. Just wanted to share that as of 5 months post treatment I am no longer experiencing side effects, that I am back to my normal routine and feeling great.

Tango Sam. Good to hear as many like me (2 1/2 months post tx) are still dealing with them. The rate of them resolving for me was so steep the first few weeks and now so flat that weekly improvement is barely noticeable if at all and gets discouraging. Notes like yours are very helpful.

Hi, I agree, I think we all recover at different rates of time. Of course we all want to feel well as soon as we finish tx.  It takes a while and as rk2762 said, take care, be kind to yourselves.  It does get better, baby steps.
I am now 15 months post tx and feeling great.  Better than I have in a long time.  My hair has all grown back in better than it has been in years.  Some people have diffuse hair loss some have more.  I think it depends on which tx and think the sx depend on the level of liver damage you may have.

some posts give me hope others bring me down.  If I am reading it correctly, its sounds like I might lose my hair.  I hope not because I am an entertainer and I don't think anyone will hire me knowing I am not in good health.  And unfortunely this is a cosmetic world.  So with that being said.  I would like to hear from you soon if it is possible.    bluebird305

Were you needing a personal trainer to help you lose weight?  It's interesting because they will have a more holistic approach to wellness....  probably not something that most would think of doing post treatment.....  was it to help with joint pain?   How are you now... ?

It's been a year and I don't have any lasting side effects now. I just started hair loss again and do tire easily, but I think that is cause of cirrhosis. Overall, it is much better than I thought it would be. I'm glad to hear that you and others are gaining strength back.
A few months after tx, I walked an 18 minute mile. Now I average 13 and go 3K at least once a week. Slow but steady. xoxo Karen:)

Hi,
I'm about 8 months post treatment. I was on INF and Riba - just the double whammy.

It took way longer than I expected to feel good. At least six months. A lot of that recovery had to do with regaining physical strength. I hired a trainer and went to physio-therapy.

So hang in there all of you who are just off the drugs. My doc said the drugs are out of your system pretty quickly. But I think it just takes your body a long time to reset.

In the mean time, be kind to yourselves and don't expect too much.

Best of luck to all.

Incidious (Incivo) moves quite quickly through your system. One usually finds it takes 2 weeks to resolve most Sx after ceasement. Interferon hangs about in your system for up to 6 months, and ribavirin can take up to a year to clear from your body. Or is that the other way round? But, my friend finished his Boseprivir (sic) treatment, and 6 months later his hair grew back in a week!
I'm a bit brain ****** today, but I hope you get this.

I was afraid of that. I`m at 21 weeks having to do 48. I`m thinking after 12 weeks of Invecek though, I can certainly handle 12 more weeks of SX but I`m not looking foward to it and I am sure hoping for the best. Good-luck at your six month check-up!

It gives all of us hope when we hear someone has returned to feeling normal or even better post-treatment. Good for you. I've been feeling pretty good at 3 months post and I'm really happy that my brain is starting to work right again. I can actually learn something without having to go over it 100 times.

Medic is so correct. Notes like these give the person who thinks there supposed to feel good at a certain time a little more hope. I'm trying to be patient. I'm only 21 days post. Sure is a testimonial as to what we put in our !!! Thanks for posting!! Hope we all getting better soon.     Kitty
