It is great to be so close to the finish line. I have done tx twice (reinfected after three years of being SVR). Both times my doc said not to bother with the extra week of riba. It will stay in your system a long time so when you finish your last shot, I think it will make no difference to take any more riba.
I took my last shot on a Friday and I took my last riba the following Thursday.
Some docs, such as jdwithhcv's, tell their patients they can stop the riba the same day as the last shot and others say to take through the following week as I did. Isn't just like everything associated with HCV -- there's no one solid answer. :)
Hi Gert, great that you are almost finished. I had planned to take riba for a full week after shot 48, but I saw my doctor 4 days after taking that shot, and she said not to bother with any more riba. I stopped riba that day. I am SVR, so I guess it did not make that much difference in terms of tx, and I was very glad to stop taking those nasty pills.
I hope your last 3 weeks are not too difficult. Toward the end of tx it got harder and harder to continue, but once I broke the seal on the last package of peg and the end was in sight I found it easier to get through it.
Please post the results of your EOT and post tx PCRs so we can celebrate with you!

Technically you want to take them for a full 48 weeks - so it depends which day you take your first pills. If you take them on a Friday for example, continue to take them until Thursday the week following your last shot.
:) your almost there - finish line ahead!
