Thank you for your response...I am just frightened
Thanks I guess the worst part is just not knowing what to expect
Is there some reason why the doctor isn't considering transplant?
I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Hospice helped a lot with my Mom, both for her and helping us know what was going on with her. Keep them there for both of you... That's my vote.
I would talk to the doctor very frankly about his reasons for recommending hospice for your husband. (Apparently, the doctor doesn't think that there is any realistic treatment for these tumors?) I would also talk to the hospice staff, as they deal with these kinds of situations on a daily basis. If the hospice staff feels that your husband qualifies for their services, you might find it helpful to use them. I've seen patients use hospice services for as long as 2 years, so choosing to use hospice doesn't necessarily mean that your husband is going to pass away in the next month or two.
Good luck to you guys.
