I see from your profile you have been diagnosed with St. 4 liver damage (chirrotic)

The recommended time frame for treating with  both Incivek and Victrelis is 48 weeks with this condition.(below)

Best to you ..

Will

Treatment-naïve patients with cirrhosis who have undetectable HCV-RNA at weeks 4 and 12 of INCIVEK combination treatment may benefit from an additional 36 weeks of peginterferon(48 weeks total)

I am not sure about the exact numbers of people on the forum. It seems to me about half do 24 weeks and about half do 48 weeks. We have had a lot of people do 48 weeks because they have cirrhosis, were previous null or partial responders, or they were still DET at week 4 of Tx.

If you want to look at some of the stats for people on the forum go to Frijole's profile page and click on the white sheets. Those are spreadsheets and they contain the stats of many of the people on the forum who did Triple Tx. You will see many SVRs coming in now.

http://www.medhelp.org/personal_pages/user/223152

The stats include Genotype (mostly Geno 1), fibrosis stage, previous Tx experience, starting VL, VL at various points, side effects.

For the record, I did 48 because I was still DET at week 4.

I did 4 years and four months all together, including 48 weeks of triple with incivek. All of them failed. I am going to treat again when and if the new drugs are approved. We are all different and I would trust your doc. If you don't trust your doc, I would get a new doc. Sounds simple enough, but these decisions aren't that simple, In the meantime, I am enjoying my life and health...Mark

For genotype 1 patients treatment duration (24 or 48 wks for incivek patients, 28, 36 or 48 wks with victrelis) depends upon different factors, response to the meds, prior treatment response (if any), condition of liver ect, ect
