"ok basically my husband's cousin went through the pegasys and copegus therapy and smoked 2 pks a day or so... i maybe smoke five cigs a day max ok but his cuz got lung cancer after finishing therapy and blamed therapy for it coming on so young"

I don't think your husband's worries have any basis in science as neither medicine  currently being used (peg/riba) has been shown to be carcinogenic.

If you smoke 2 packs a day your risk for lung cancer increases manyfold. If he was 32 y.o. and started at, say age 16, that would be equivalent of someone smoking 1 pack a day  for 32 years. And probably worse, since the injury is higher for someone who smokes 2 packs a day. As to marinol there are other ways to treat side effects that perhaps you can explore. There are alot of good recommendations on this site for the most common sides. --ML

All-

I've said this many times before, but it still bears repeating.

50 -  60 percent of smokers will die from a smoking-related illness. (avg. 55%  mortality)

1 - 5 percent will die from an HCV-related complications. (avg 3% mortality)

Considering the fact that smoking has a mortality rate almost TWENTY times higher than HCV it would seem sensible to address that problem as soon as possible.

I do believe that if you are already on tx and you are a smoker you should wait to address the problem until after the completion of tx. Tx can throw so much at you that the additional stress would not be welcome. The goal at this time is the completion of therapy and you don't want anything added to make it any more difficult than it is already.  - ML

ok basically my husband's cousin went through the pegasys and copegus therapy and smoked 2 pks a day or so... i maybe smoke five cigs a day max ok but his cuz got lung cancer after finishing therapy and blamed therapy for it coming on so young, he was 32... so i was wondering what y'all thought about it... because my hubby'sgiving me a hard time about a freaking cigarette!!! and not giving them to me when i want them... so that's all.
well also about the the other... anyone know about how to getm arinols in tennessee? if i'd taken this therapy in cali i'd have the real, and in nyc i'd get the balls... so i'm wondering what to do for side effects in the bible belt, my doc is extremely unsympathetic, and i have a 4 month old and a 6 yr old. i've lost 13 lbs since 2 thursdays ago when i started this sht... and i need.... something to help me here. everything i eat comes up... and when i do smoke da reef... it's instant relief. does anyone knkow what i mean? advice?

I believe you are asking if smoking can be more harmful while you are on Tx and you have COPD?  Please clarify

I don't understand your question.
On treatment with hemolytic anemia you have less oxygen in your blood so it's harder to smoke but aside from that.......no idea what you are trying to ask here.
