post hepc treatment

I finished my course of interferon and ribavirin treatment about 5 months ago when I was declared free of hepc genus3. Since then my weight has increased dramatically,I still feel tired and my eyesight has deteriorated rapidly. I've also had a rash which has been ongoing .Could these be side affects of treatment.

Important to get your thyroid checked concerning the weight and fatigue.  Also, I developed skin reactions to over the counter medications that I wasn't allergic to before so check the food and other medications you are on.

Even with my thyroid disorder from treatment my doctor said "you've definitely been eating too much"..which in fact was probably true once I could taste food correctly again it was delicious.

Get your thyroid tested for certain.

Hi Brummie-

Congratulations getting rid of the virus; sorry you haven’t felt well since, though. Interferon-based therapy can cause poor thyroid function; was yours checked before and periodically throughout your treatment? This can be responsible for weight gain sometimes; as well as skin issues. the test might include T3 and free T4, among others.

Good luck; perhaps others will stop in and offer their experiences as well. Take care-

Bill
