i know its very dangerous to do a intense internal body cleansing if you have liver damage, its ok to do a mild fast ecvry spring or so,but do this mega fasting is no wise.i did lots of research on this.
i'VE KNOWN 2 scientologists in my life. Both of whom had their health virtually destroyed by the cult. It's all mind over matter with these folks..you just get your thinking right, do a couple exersises, donate a lot, and all will be fine.
One man ended up with congestive heart failure listening to them. Had he caught it early and treated correctly his life quality would have been vastly better.
The other man was forced by his parents to lie on a couch for 2 years, with 3rd degree burns. He had pulled a pot of boiling water on himself, and his "cure" was to lie there and think it better. Without proper dressing these burns ate down to the bone and he is permantly crippled. Lying infected for 2 years on a couch...his parents are guilty of attempted murder but the cult protects their own.
None of these stories make it out in their "enlightened literature" their failures or their maimed bodies. But I have seen the damage and it is all too real.
As far as I'm concerned this cult, and Christian Scientists, and Science of the mind officianados are all cut from the same cloth...they think if they just believe something enough it will have to materilize. The difference between this and true christianity is that the real faith knows that it is the Lord who heals, and sometimes bad things happen to good people, but we can ask hope and pray for HIs help, yet we had best do the wisdom that's put in front us to do as well. God is not our liitle geni in the bottle.
For instance a hild with 3rd degree burns needs a burn ward, a cchild with his femur broken and sticking out of his thigh needs to have the bone set. He doesn't need someone to suggest jogging, or for some faker to wave an Armani suit over him and say swoosh, you're healed. Honestly I think I shall start a church one day...and the banner over the entrance shall read "God never said to Check Your Brains at the Door" !!!
If I were you I'd high tail it out there pronto. You cannot sweat out a retrovirus, if you could, we'd all be doing it.....and nix the niacin, every vitamin, food and substance applied to the body and breathed in must be run thru your liver....start reading up on what is toxic to the liver..in here and google it...the list is looooonnngg.

the discoloration seen in Katie Holmes hands was reportedly caused by the Purif program (it did go away eventually):

It's difficult for me to understand how one can detox by taking toxic levels of a supplement.
ahhh yes... the scientology purif program. I have to agree with unique. I would run, not walk - straight out the door. Many physicians feel that this is a dangerous program, and that's for a person of normal health - one without a preexisting liver condition.

I thin I would talk with my M.D. about this, but taking nician and spending hours in a sauna doesn't sound reasonable to me.
The program you are on is a very good detoxification program for someone with a healthy liver. However, I have read that large dosages of niacin can be toxic to the liver. If you have hepc, you should check with a qualified specialist as to taking the niacin. Make sure the supervisor of the program you are on knows that you have hepc. Get advice from a liver specialist! Good luck!
>>I don't know if the system detox program you are in is too straining on the liver.
>>guess it would depend on how harsh the program is and on how much liver damage
>>you have. And probably some other factors.
And even more to the point , no sauna or "detox" program that merely involves running a lot will do a thing for addiction issues (or Hep C ) for that matter.
Scientology is a sham business (not a religion) which believes that most drugs will not cure disease and tries to get people to "run off" disease or mental disorders. Later on they try to get you to but about 20 grand of "instruction" to make the alien thetans inhabiting your body that are causing all your disease and trouble go away . I am not making this up at all.
Yes it is Scientology but she was not asking about that. I don't think running or sauna's will do anything to hurt you very much - of course it won't hurt you but it won't cure you either. Five hours sounds very extreme to me though and could be dehydrating you and that could be dangerous. I'm not a doctor so really I have no idea. Just be very careful if you want to stay there.
I personally don't think this should be turned into a religious discussion.
I don't know if the system detox program you are in is too straining on the liver. I guess it would depend on how harsh the program is and on how much liver damage you have. And probably some other factors.
As a rule of thumb, you should not do more than you feel you can handle. Listen to your body and rest when you feel it is too much.
You are in a Scientology facility.
That's not good at all.
Here are some links that explain what kind of cult these people are - this is from the British newspaper, The Telegraph, The British dept of Health and other sources.
