They have an outstanding hepatology department at UC Denver. Lots of expirience with the new PI's if you are genotype 1. You will have to have a referal from your GP to get an appointment but they are very helpful, you may want to give them a call and see what they can do to help you get the show on the road. I will be starting a clinical trial there on wed and have been very impressed with every aspect of there department so far.
For the record, the insurance companies will only approve Incivek or Victrelis for those with genotype 1.
Agree with Joe. I'd be asking your doctor why the long delay in scheduling and getting approval. The insurance carrier might not be able to give you specific information until they have your diagnosis codes from your doctor. But that wouldn't keep me from calling your health insurance rep and asking anyway. It really is important to take the time to find a doctor responsive to your needs.
Good luck getting started soon.
There's should be no reason you can't get it right away I had mine within a week and vertex will pay the copay for you. Call your insurance company or find another doc. Joe
