The average life span of the hepatocyte is 5 months; they are able to regenerate.
It all depends if you’re still treating or are in post treatment. Months following EOT I had and still do to lesser extent have upper right un-comfort from time to time. It was more noticeable during and just after treatment and has been said in other threads that it is due to the shrinking inflammation of the liver and surrounding tissue around the liver. My personal thought is that not only the liver itself is shrinking but every other organ is also kind of deflating from being pumped up by the external interferon while treating. The deflating can’t be done all at once and will take time for the organs and body to find its own balance in time but until then discomfort will be experienced, The body has been put through a marathon and recovery from that will take time, just my though.

Yes, for the first 4-5 weeks after EOT I did experience upper right quadrant pain, fortunatelly the PCR right after that shot that I am UND.
So I would defintely say - do not worry. Docs don't know to explain why the pain occur, I beleive as someone told me in this forum that he heard from one nurse that after EOT the stomach is somehow sluggish.
Based on my experiend - do not worry, just get PCT test.
wish you the best.

I've had a SVR for almost 8 years now and still get twinges in the RUQ. It feels like someone is poking me with a metal kabab skewer at times. It's never gone away and it's never gotten worse. I have minimal liver damage.

if i dont flush with water thru my system really good i get pain also at times
UND - Occasionally get twinges. Some are rather uncomfortable but nothing too serious considering the potency of the drugs I am taking. Stage 3. Caffeine, sugar and some foods seem to bother me but it could be my gallbladder.
