".I already feel all the negative things of interferon because is an element that already exists in our body.telaprevir has less side effects and is more effective ( 80% )."

I can assure you that whatever amount of interferon that already exists in our body does not produce the same effects of SOC or else everyone would feel like those of us who treat.  As for telaprevir it has more side effects than SOC ....(everyone is different)... as jacksonblue said....Do your homework.

I am in a blind telaprevir trial....and am hoping that I received it.   It was a rough go for me...anemia, neutropenia, fatigue, itching and rashes, and other unmentionable sides.....but it was worth it!!!!!   If I am not SVR I would treat again If possible.

many thanks copyman  for your good words! I want to avoid biopsy (a friend in Greece had a really dangerous experience about biopsy due to bad medical treatment) I already feel very bad and i thought that telaprevir with SOC both, is the best and more effective treatment.so it is better for me to wait I think. Genotype is 1. Thanks in advance

not 20 years but (since 97, i wrote) approximately 12 years. i dont want to use ONLY  SOC because of the side effects and the effectivity.I already feel all the negative things of interferon because is an element that already exists in our body.telaprevir has less side effects and is more effective ( 80% ).For this!I dont like the  way of the riba -interferon treatment.I need results not a gambling way of 50-50!
thanks in advance

I hate to tell you this but Telaprevir will be prescribed WITH the SOC drugs so you will not avoid this by waiting. While you have been waiting all these years have you been evaluated by a liver doctor (hepatologist) on at least a yearly basis. If not get checked. This disease is very stealth and has a strange way of sneaking up on some people. The symptoms you describe can indeed be from the HepC and/or worsening of the liver.
Telaprevir hopefully will be out in 2011. Best of luck

Why are you waiting on telaprevir if you don't mind me asking? Why not just treat now? You've apparently had hep C for over 20 years and you are have some serious (possible) side effects why not just treat now? Do you know what genotype you are?
