Dr Alper

Has anyone seen Dr Alper in Fresno or Madera CA?  He's a gastro doc.  Not sure if I should go that route or schedule w/a hepatologist at CA Pacific Med Ctr.  (Was considering Dr. Bonacini.)  New to the area.  Don't have a primary here yet.  Hep C+, tx naive.  Looking for some input.

Thanks.

I don’t know much about Dr Alper, but Dr. Maurizio Bonicini with CPMC rocks; he’s very aggressive and connected with a cutting edge research, treatment and transplant center. Treatment decisions are discussed with Dr Robert Gish in San Francisco. I used this center in the past; these folks are excellent.

Good luck, and welcome to the central valley--

Bill

If you have a choice I would always go with a hepatologist rather than a GI doc.
