Why Robert will B Well, Hi ive been meaning to slip you a note. I believe you posted you missed the country life. on my photos. Hi , I believe I saw you are starting tx this month. Good luck to you and god bless you. Are you able to go to calif? ginger
I am Genotype 1b and all this info sounds fantastic. I will definitally call monday. Thanks for explaining about the part I would have to pay for. I was scared Id have to figure out how to cover 60k plusss. Ill see what I can google on the bms-790052. I think Ill have the GI I see on monday do a IL-28. hoping I got good genetics, what with the mix of irish, french ,indian,mex.. Again thank You. ginger
I don't remember having to register for clinicaltrials.gov I just found a study I felt good about and called the contact information to see if they were still screening when I was interested. They will help you from there if they are still looking for participants.
The treatment drugs (BMS-790052, ribavirin and interferon) will be paid for as well as all the labs and doctor visits.
If you need the support or rescue drugs because of blood cell destruction you would have to pay for that. that would be procrit for anemia, and neupogen for low white blood cells or anc. You may not have an issue with anemia or white blood cells, not everyone does. But you should be aware of the possibility.
I would call on monday if you are interested in this trial. As I mentioned previously they may have found all the participants they need already, but it is worth a try. They just opened it up for recruitment a few weeks ago.
The new drug is called BMS-790052, it does not have a name like telaprevir or boceprevir yet. It looks very promising from the previous trials. This trial is also for genotype 1 or 4. Which genotype are you?
The most populous states have the most trials, it seems. Try California if you have folks there. I just did the following search on clinicaltrials.gov:
"hepatitis c and phase 2 and california"
And found 30 studies currently recruiting.
oh , holy moly, Why thank you . I have a appointment on oct 4 there. well sorda, Im going to Utica park clinic Gastroenterology. And Harvey A tatum is one of the docs (2 doc's I believe) and My visit will be with the PA-C Rose. They just sent me the brouchure. I hear thier real good.@ treating. I have been on www. clinicaltrials.gov For 5 hours. I probally never would of found it. Which new drug are you talking about is it talaprevir? I have been writing clin trials with real weird names that i was going to look up later. like psi-7977 and vx-222 and talaprevir used with SOC..Tulsa would be better for me as income, gas, and farm are all an issue. If I were in calif or Nv. I wouldnt be able to water goat, lamb, horse, cat, chicken or dog. I am going to contact them on Monday. One more question. I saw somewhere where I have to register with www. clinicaltrials.gov. I couldnt figure out how to do that. Do you know how? Have you been in a trial? Awnser to Your question is no I have never treated and yea Im treatment niave. Hey If they need to be paid with insurance or privately. Then Where am I saving? I thought the trials were free?
The link is clinicaltrials.gov
There is a trial that is just starting and they have two sites in tulsa. This is for bms 790052 riba and interferon which looks very promising. Some of the forum members are going to participate.
here is the link, I don't know if they are still taking people. It says recruiting, but I know they are getting close to closing the recruitment. If you are interested, call asap

ya think i should type in hep trials?
I would just go to trials .gov and plug in the states you are looking at and see what comesup. They often have things available or coming that aren't listed but it can give you an idea where a lot of trials are being done.
Hope it goes well. There are some very knowledgable people around here that are good at helping you see the pitfalls and the strengths built in to the trial. Some are just a safer bet than others.
