what type of doctor do you need to have?

My father told me that my mother sees a gastrologist liver Dr, in ann arbor, mi. Everything I have read talks about a hepatologist. Are they the same thing?

i agree with jim, it's important to see a hepa for liver conditions, they know more details

no. A gastroenterologist a gastroenterologist is not necessarily the liver specialist. if you want the best specialist for liver related problems such as hepatitis C they can usually be found at your larger teaching hospitals
