Whatever she does just make sure she doesn't ignore her illness because "she feels fine"! That's exactley what my papa did and now he is dying of cirrhosis of the liver. Good luck to you and your girl.:)
Depending on what genotype (strain) of hep c the person has, the success rate from treatment is only 45%-about 80%
The treatment is very long, toxic and difficult. She can read a lot about people's experience with treatment on this forum.
Thinking it will be easy to cure hep c is far from the truth and as Trinity said, she should educate herself.
Drinking alcohol and being overweight can sometimes lead to quicker progression of liver disease.
Good Luck

Here's a few good websites. Your gal is very misinformed. Have her get on the computer and educate herself about hepc and treatment. You can't prevent her from worrying because she has a disease that needs to be addressed and once she educates herself she can make informed decisions on how to move forward. Hepc is not a death sentence but she can't hide her head in the sand either. She really needs to see a good GI or hepatologist.

She has the injection part right but it is a lot more then 2 injections. It is at least 24 or possibly 48 injections done weekly along with pills everyday.
She is also right that it could be a lot worse with something like HIV. At least Hepatitis C can be cured in many cases.
Best of luck.
