dehydration or anemia?

Whoa...I was doing AM dishes and started feeling really weak with heart pounding..and had to sit down...heart is still pounding several mins later..I think I'm drinking enough water and I didn't break out into a sweat or have thirst...But I'm not cold either...Is anemia from tx different than regular anemia? I'm getting #2 bloods done tomorrow...(I'm just finishing week #2...) Anybody experience this?

Make sure your sodium is checked with your labs. During tx i drank too much H2O and had similar episodes. My sodium had gotten down to 120!!! I was dehydrating myself.

Hey, thanks all! I'm doing okay...I think I just haven't learned to pace myself yet...Sigh...I'm so used to going full speed from the time I get up (6:30 am) to the time I go to bed, that I just didn't consider, when I was feeling okay, that I shouldn't go at my accustomed pace...Grr...Test tomorrow will show any abnormal stuff...last week my leukocytes were up, and neutrophils were down...I suspect that's just a response to the tx...But other labs were okay...But good advice...Will contact Dr in AM...

You may want to get in touch with your doctor before the blood work to see if you can also get a Thyroid Cascade Test done along with it. My thyroid bounced around quite a bit during the beginning of TX and through out before showing up on the thyroid test, first it was hyper then went to Hypo.

Unfortunately, that feeling of being on the verge of passing out, short of breath, weak and dizzy are very common on TX as HgB is dropping.  If you felt better after ashort time i wouldn't worry about it.  If you've only been on TX for 2 weeks it's highly unlikely that HgB would have dropped to between 7-9, which is transfusion range.

Just take it slow, listen to your body when it feels like that, you're not imagining it.  I've had to cut down on driving because my hgb is down to 10 and i get dizzt behind the wheel.  there have been times at the grocery store i felt Like I was going to collapse.  A friedn who ddi TX would actually sit down in the middle of a grocery store aisle when she felt that way.  You're getting labs often so unless you feel like you're having a heart attack, in which case you should be at the ER, I'd do the labs tomorrow, tell your Dr. what happened and wait to see the results of your hgB.

How are you doing????
I am worried about you!  Maybe it is an anxiety attack?  By now I'm sure you know, as this was posted this morning.
Please post back and let us know how you are and if the heart pounding subsided...
