can herpes occur on soft palate

for 4 years about once a year i get mild throat irritation for about 4-6 weeks and tiny red nodules are on the soft palate, i have been tested for hiv , syphillis , chlamyidia and gonnerea, and since that time i have never put myself at risk again, i was so ill with aniexty that i had something really nasty that for months all i could do was think of hiv etc then i finially got test after 6months and everything was fine and my throat eased but after a few months it was back i was really stressed and worried when i first started getting these symptoms, i have been to doctors for times and one says it was similar to herpes simplex??? another says it could be allergies? i am continuing to worry as i just do not know what it can be, i find that everytime i am stressed my throat hurts and i also get mild ear pain which is mostly on the left, its worrying me sick my question is could this be stress related and herpes? thanks to anyone who takes time out to  read this...

A herpes reactivation would not cause symptoms for 4-6 weeks.  Sounds like either allergies or reflux. Next time you have symptoms, return to the ENT doctor as soon as they start for follow up testing. if they feel it looks like herpes ( which recurrences of it in this area would be very unusual too ) they need to prove it with a lesion culture of active symptoms and not a visual diagnosis.  Even a blood test isn't helpful because even if you do test hsv1+, that doesn't say that these symptoms are due to hsv1 so that's why the lesion culture is necessary if they feel it's herpes.  Be sure to keep a symptom diary too when this is going on so you can track your diet, other illnesses ( cold, flu etc ) as well as the time of year to try to narrow it down.
