Herpes Nightmare

I am a 30-year old women with no STDs. I performed unprotected oral sex on a man with herpes (type2). I also received oral sex, and we kissed. He had no outbreak at the time and he later told me that he is on Valtrex. This was 2 days ago. But I already feel symptoms, like discharge, lower pack pain, strained feeling in the groins. How worried should I be? Can I have contracted it?

whether a  partner ejaculates or not is meaningless. std's are transmitted through the sex act itself and unprotected naked outercourse can transmit some std's though the risk is low for most except for hpv.

At this point you need to be seen for your discharge and find out what is causing it. herpes isn't a real concern at this point. don't get hung up on knowing this partner had hsv2.

Thanks again. There was unprotected genital contact (though no intercourse). And he did ejaculate. Technically, I could still get genital herpes. Is this correct? Am I exaggerating the risk? I will get tested in a few days and then in 3 months. I wish I could know right now. I am having a hard time moving on with my life.

you can contract hsv2 orally but the risk of such is incredibly low.

Thank you, Grace. And I did examine the info online. But I still have a question.

I gave him oral sex too. It was unprotected. It was a mistake. Is my risk of contracting herpes still low.

I feel symptoms now, like fever, discharge, tightness in the lower back. I am terrified.

you receiving oral sex from someone with hsv2 genitally, wouldn't result in a hsv2 genital infection for you.

you have discharge so you need to be seen and get properly tested for yeast, bv , chlamydia and gonorrhea after 1 week post encounter.

always protect yourself and have protected oral sex - both giving and receiving - with partners!
