Herpes?

Hi everyone, I'm new here. First time posting

Anyway, about a month back around early February I had protected sex with a woman. 2 weeks later, I began having symptoms of what I thought is herpes. Clustered sores on the groin (between the base of penis and the groin), muscle aches, fever and back pain. I got tested for all types of stds and it came back negative. However, it was only 3 weeks post exposure. I also did a hiv test at 7 weeks and it came back negative.

Ever since then, I have not had any outbreaks yet. Moreover, the top of my penis and the skin below it are flaky and dry. Could herpes have caused the excessive dryness? My doctor told me based on my 3rd week test result, it is unlikely that its is herpes but I'm not too sure about that. Could it also be some yeast infection like Candida?

Could be dryness or it could be yeast.  A return appointment is in order.

Well I had IGG herpes blood test done. I did mention to the doctor that it may be too early to test for antibodies but he said it should show up by 2 weeks. He did take a viral culture as well. However, up till today I have not got the results yet.

I am wondering what is causing the excessive dryness though. And yes. I will take another blood test at the 4 month mark. Thanks for the advice.

Testing with a blood test 3 weeks after possible infection isn't helpful if it's negative.  Any idea if you had a herpes igg blood test done or the herpes igm test done?  A lesion culture of active symptoms would've been the most helpful but it's too late now for that.

follow up on this with your provider or another provider to try to figure out what is going on. You can repeat your igg blood test at the 4 months past exposure mark.
