Am I In The Clear?

Hi everyone.
I have been a poster here for a while (have not been in a while) starting last June when I believe I was exposed to HSV type 1. The night before my "outbreak" I felt a jolt up my right thigh and then woke up with a white "bump" or cyst or pimple under the hood of my clitoris. No itching, burning or anything else. No other symptoms developed after that either. The bump took about 2 weeks to go away. My initial doctor believed that I had hsv but upon seeing that I had tested negative for both types she told me to come back in 3 months for testing. I had been tested at 1 week post exposure with double negatives for 1&2. Then at 7.5 weeks again negative for both. Then finally at 13 weeks and still negative for both but this time with less than .2 for HSV 2 and 0.8 for HSV1.

This brings me to yesterday when I noticed what looked like a pimple in my pubic area on my inner thigh close to my vagina. Not on the vagina/vulva just in the area with hair. I tried to pop it but the scab just came off and today it looks like I popped a pimple and the head is still on/scabbed but the scab is super small. Then I noticed a flesh colored bump or blister (however, it looked to have a whitehead or something yellow/white inside of it. Popped that as well and either the skin came off or the core popped out. It hurts a bit now but only because I messed with it all morning. I have not had any other blisters or anything beyond these two times and was wondering if experts believe I should get tested again or let it go.

One new partner and no issues whatsoever vaginally with me or on his penis or anything. 7 months of mono relationship/sex.

I apologize for the length. Any answers are welcomed. Thank you.

Thanks so much. Your responses have been great. So even with the bump (again no swab) you don't think I have herpes? No other problems since.

You have two well respected profesionals at the top of thier feilds. Terri is very conservative and doesn't really like to tell people with confidence that they dont have it.
Here is my take. I agree more with Dr Handsfield on this. If the numbers mattered that much then why are low false possitives such an issue. I wouldn't worry about the numbers of neg tests. I have had four hsv tests and one western blot. I had one low false positive. These tests while good are not great and they can pick up "noise" at a .2 or.8 the test is not confident it saw any antibodies at all.

Hi guys. I know you two are probably beyond tired of me lol.
I got the results from my first test back in June which was <.2 and in late August it was at .8
I talked to Terri warren who said that was a high negative and she didn't know if I had it or not- but also I read dr Handsfields message about the numbers not mattering. So I'm a bit confused and would like some clarification. Thanks guys.

I agree with Don, testing is evidence not the bump.

It would be very very rare. That risk is so small it's not even a realistic concern.
You can always test again but would be a waste of money.

Just a quick Q-

If I tested negative at 13.5 weeks with negatives for both. What would the likelihood be that the results would change almost a year after the fact with no recurrent outbreak ? Thank you

Hi, thank you for the quick reply. I wanted to add that my bottom half feels a bit odd. My hip/pelvic area feels a bit full and I think maybe one of my lymph nodes in my groin may be a bit swollen. No pain though. My tailbone also feels a bit strange.

Also, both bumps that I picked at are healing. The first now looks like a drying pimple with a tiny whitehead and the second is healing with what looks like a drying red (blood?) scab.

Are your answers still the same?
Thanks again.

Does not sound like hsv and with your testing I would feel confident that you don't have hsv
