Does this seem like herpes?

I recently moved to an even hotter place than I’m used to. I drank very little water during the move and my top lip started to get tingly/burning. In response I licked it constantly. I kept licking my lips but I’d use chapstick which made it worse and eventually I noticed I had irritation. It started off white like when your lips have too much moisture [hard to explain what it looked like but babies have it a lot because of drool]. I stopped licking them and the irritation turned red rash-like and tiny pink/flesh colored bumps formed in the center of my lip. Not on the border at all. They didn’t fill with liquid, nothing bled just a sprinkle of very very tiny bumps. I also developed angular chelitis. I stopped using Vaseline and they eventually became extremely dry and huge flakes of skin covered both lips. Where the tiny bumps were you could see individual dry outlines. I peeled away the skin and now they’re fine. Was that a herpes outbreak? Whole process took 12 days. If so it would have been my first one. My doctor saw my dry lips, asked if I was stressed and when I said yeah because of the move he said based on my description I have herpes and gave me acyclovir. He saw the aftermath (dry lips) but said it was most likely herpes. I was tested prior to a new partner after being single 2yrs and I was in a monogamous 12yr relationship prior so no chance I had it before. I just want to know does herpes stretch across both top and bottom inner lip in a straight line with off and on burn/tingly sensation then dry up and turn into flaky lips?
Idk how to post a photo but if someone wanted to see any stage of the process I do have pics.

I just read your other post, where you mention that you tested negative for herpes. I don't know when your most recent exposure was, but if you've had no possible exposures within the last 4 months, you can safely say this isn't herpes.

It doesn't sound like herpes. Herpes is usually a cluster of blisters, not something spread out over your lips in a straight line. I'd wonder if you are having an allergic reaction to something you are using on your lips (a new chapstick, for example) or something you are eating or drinking.

If you have follow up questions, please keep them to one thread. It's hard to help you as well as we can if your information is spread out in different places.

Sorry for the confusion. I've had two partners, one for 12yrs and after him I tested negative. My symptoms showed up shortly after kissing a new guy. That's the reason I don't trust the latest blood test for oral herpes since I had it done 12 days after new exposure . But my doctor was really dismissive when I explained it didn't seem like herpes and now it's on my health record as positive for oral and negative for genital. I was thinking I may have been having atypical symptoms. Thanks for the response!
